Not Being ‘OK’

Sometimes not being OK is all we can register inside our tired brains and aching hearts.
This emotion is human, and accepting it can feel like a small weight lifted.
Truth be told, it’s not OK when someone you care about is no longer living and breathing and giving their amazing gifts to the world.
It’s not OK when everything falls apart and you are buried deep in the wreckage of a life you had planned for.
It’s not OK when the bank account is nearly empty, with no clear sign of a promising income opportunity.
It’s not OK when someone you trusted betrays you and breaks your heart.
It’s not OK when you are emotionally drained to the point that you cannot get yourself out of bed in the morning.
It’s not OK when you are engulfed in failure or shame or a grief like you have never known before.
Whatever your tough times consist of, sometimes it’s just NOT OK right now.
And that realisation is more than OK.

  1. Not being ok comes with life. It reminds me that all of us have struggles and stories and we shouldn’t judge eachother for it, but help eachother through it.
Through acceptance and self compassion one can learn that’s it’s ok not to be ok all the time. We need to take of our masks and show more of ourselves <3

  2. This is such a great post! We’re never going to be ok 100% of the time in life and this posts reminds everyone that it’s okay not to be ok and that it’s fine to admit you’re not ok and need someone to talk to!

  3. It’s totally fine to not be ok all the time. Things happen in life and it’s not always easy to deal with it. Well done for coming to this realisation! Love your blog.
