The Present

If we were tasked to identify what percentage of the time we are
1) Fully engaged in the present moment,
2) Contemplating on something that happened in the past, or
3) Worrying about something that might happen in the future,
What kind of percentages do you think we would come up with?
If we were really honest, some of us would have to admit that it would look something like:
1) 10%
2) 40%
3) 50%!
It takes focus and awareness to concentrate our attention in the present moment.
Here is what Abraham Maslow had to say about it:
“I can feel guilty about the past, apprehensive about the future, but only in the present can I act.”
The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness.
From today, when we find our minds wandering into the past or the future, let’s pull them back into the present moment, focusing our attention and energy into our only real opportunity to take control, to experience, for action and change.
